The Illusion of Democracy

In a blunder that is sure to delight the logical Republicans, the electronic voting vendor Diebold accidentally revealed the outcome of the 2008 Presidential Election. ONN has more on the story:

Diebold Accidentally Leaks Results Of 2008 Election Early

I can live with this illusion.

Awareness Test

Think you can pay attention when a lot of things are going on around you? How aware are you, really? Here’s a video test that you can take online to see how aware you actually are. Make sure that you do this when you have about 60 seconds (one mintue) of undisturbed time, be certain that your computer speakers are turned on and pay very close attention. Post your YES or NO answer as a comment.

Have another hour to spare?

If you’ve ever asked yourself the question, “Does God want me to be rich,” then I have the perfect video for you. Back in November, I presented a talk on the question “Does God want you to be rich?” to my Young Adult Group at St. Dominic’s. It’s taken some time, but it is now available for you to view online. The running time of the entire presentation is about an hour. If you don’t have an hour to watch it, you can put it on in the background and just listen while at work.
While I’m at it, you can also check out this Young Adult Retreat Promo video.
Enjoy!

BSB: Before Starting the Blog

Good evening, all. For those of you who don’t know it, I did have a life before I started the Lancesworld.com journal. I know that it is hard to believe that Lance had a world before Lancesworld was online, but it is 100% true. To help prove that I had a life for at least a brief period of time prior to my arrival on the blogging scene, I decided that it was time to post a video from my past. Many of you may have seen this video before, but believe me, you don’t want to miss a repeat performance. For those of you who haven’t yet had the joy and the privilege, I present to you, “The Backstreet Boys: A Mockumentary!”

If the embedded video doesn’t work, you can always click here to watch it.

A new video for you to enjoy

I told you that I was going to add some more video for your viewing pleasure… and here it is.
This video was produced as part of a class that I was teaching at Sunset Youth Services in San Francisco. SYS is like a community center for at risk youth. Many of the kids that come come from broken families, difficult economic backgrounds, or have had disciplinary trouble in the past. Unfortunately, this class didn’t really take off the way we had hoped, and this is the only piece that was ever actually finished. This was my re-edit of the footage.
Check it out here!

A Wedding Peek

For those of you who might be interested, here is a quick video of the first dance from Shane & Leilani’s wedding. This is the couple that was just married on Saturday. They are my very dear (not dead) friends, and I was honored to shoot their wedding video for them. Here is their first dance (two version available depending on bandwidth).
