A Solicitation for Prayer
Friends, I write today asking that you offer a special prayer for my grandmother who is in critical condition in the ICU back home in Utah. Last week she had a routine operation to repair a hernia. At first, it was believed that the operation was free of complications, but yesterday she was admitted to the hospital for emergency surgery. It was discovered that she was suffering from severe internal bleeding. The bleeding would not stop and her abdomen was filled with fluid. Her blood was too thin to operate immediately, but because the internal bleeding would not stop, they had no choice but to perform the emergency surgery. She lost significant amounts of blood, and despite having been given four units of blood since the surgery ended, her blood pressure is far too low and is currently only being maintained through a very high dosage of dopamine. While the drug causes her blood pressure to raise to a healthier level, it is causing damage to her already weak heart. I ask, therefore, that you offer a prayer for my grandmother that, God willing, she will recover quickly.
