Happy New Year!
Happy 2006 one and all!
I hope you all had an amazing New Year's Eve, no matter what you did. Whether you're the party-goer, the quiet gatherer, the stay-inner or the go to bed early type, I hope you did it well.
My New Year's Eve was great - perhaps a little too good to be recounted in full detail here. My sister and I went to a party at her friend Adam's house. We showed up there a little before 10 and partied right on past midnight to about 4 a.m. The evening consisted of conversation, dancing, darts and, yes, drinking. Of course, I am not at liberty to share with you who was drinking or how much (heck, I might not even remember to tell you!), but suffice it to say that a good time was had by all.
In truth, I was slightly disappointed that we never busted out the poker chips. A guy named Les had brought along some chips and cards and I was all geared up for a rousing game of Texas Hold 'Em, but it never happened. Oh well, there will be other times for cards.
Tomorrow Notre Dame plays in the Fiesta Bowl against the Ohio State Buckeyes. I am excited for the game, though Notre Dame's recent bowl performances have been less than commendable. Indeed, the last time we played in the Fiesta Bowl was just after my freshman year at ND. Not so good a result, that one... Regardless of past performance, though, I am confident that the Irish have what it takes to pull away with a big "W" on this one! Go Irish! Beat Buckeyes!
