One month later
Well, folks, looks like I've been delinquent in keeping my journal up to date. In fact, so delinquent have I been that I am not even in Los Angeles anymore. In fact, I've been up in San Francisco now for just over two weeks. My first week up here was spent working out of a hotel conference room, but last week we finally got settled into our production offices on Treasure Island, located right in the middle of the Bay.
I am living in this very nice room in the Sunset District of San Francisco. While Sunset is fairly far from downtown and the island, the rents are cheaper, the parking easier, and the location safer. I have a very large room on the ground floor of a house owned by a very nice, young couple. My room has beautiful cherry wood floors, a remodelled private bath, and even a semi-private entrance. In fact, I even have a view of the ocean from my room on clear days. My commute in to work is usually around 30 minutes, but compared to the 60+ minutes I was commuting in LA, I can't really complain about 30 minutes.
Work has been busy. I've been putting in at least 12 hours a day for the most part, sometimes even as much as 14 or more hours. I anticipate that once we start shooting, I might even put in 15 or 16 hour days. But, I don't really mind it that much. I love the work I do, so I'm willing to give it all that I've got.
Oh, I just signed up for Netflix over the weekend. I've decided that if you are going to sign up for Netflix, the best time to sign up is on Monday morning. You see, you start your two week trial on the day that you sign up, but they don't ship on Saturday or Sunday, so it is best to sign up Monday morning to get the most out of the trial. So let's make that your "Lesson from Lance."
